As a Conservative Libertarian, my opinion is that Government should only do 3 things: 1) protect my (and my family)person, 2) protect my Property Rights and 3) enforce contracts. I don't want or need the government to do anything else.
With that said, it is clear the "State," government and the police (including the alphabet agencies-FDA, FCC, FTC, USDA, EPA, IRS, etc....) have entirely way too much power. Whether it be the police murdering an unarmed black suspect, or no-knock raids, or swat teams arresting white collar crime suspects at 5 am, there are multiple examples of police abusing their power. Government agencies like the FDA raiding research labs and confiscating documents, computers, lab samples and destroying valuable research. Waco?
What happened to George Floyd should never happen to anyone of any color in this country, period!
What happened to Roger Stone and Gen. Flynn should never happen in this country either.
Cops spraying seated protesters, assaulting peaceful protesters is absolutely wrong and should never happen. Rioters and looters-fair game.
If there is a systemic problem it is not racism, but rather the hunger of absolute power. To be judge, jury and executioner. Maybe too many Dirty Harry movies? This is becoming a more and more serious problem that must be dealt with.
The message of BLM is appropriate to a point. Yes, the media has hyped the white cop killing the black man. It is the classic premise of journalism, if a dog bites a man, no one cares. But if a man bites a dog, it's headline material. Because it is rare and unexpected. Based on actual statistics, a white cop killing a black man is a "man bites dog" scenario. Statistically, it is a very rare event. Yet when it does happen, it becomes national headline news. Don't get me wrong, it should never happen.
BLM and Collin Kaepernick protest the police killing black men, suggesting systemic racism. I get it, and, yes it should be protested. However, if they really cared about "Black Lives" they are going about it completely wrong. Where and how they protest, is not reaching the appropriate target.
A black male victim of homicide is 90 times more likely to be killed by another black male than a white individual. Cops (of all races) kill less than 5% . If BLM really was interested in saving black lives, they should be where the killing actually is taking place. Chicago, D.C., Baltimore, Detroit, etc... I saw someone post a comment on BLM being similar to "Save the Whales." Great cause, but if you do a Save the Whale protest on Lake Michigan, you're missing the target. Unfortunately, BLM protesting where they are, is missing the target.
Here is an interesting paradox. Socialists/leftists are typically the ones most passionate about reigning in the cops and supporting the protests (including the rioters and looters). But in order for their socialist agenda to become a reality, they must have a very powerful police force. Can't have socialism, democratic or otherwise without a strong police force to ensure the socialist agenda is followed. Everyone must conform.
Another issue brought up as part of the "Systemic racism," is the disproportionate number of black incarcerated. My question is, did they commit the crimes? If so, why? Most will point to poverty, poor education, lack of jobs and no male role models for young black males as root causes of higher crime. I agree. If you look back at my previous post on what is oppressing blacks, you will see those oppressors are contributing to higher crime rates. And, yes the justice system is in need of a good cleanse. Rich white people do seem to be getting lighter sentences for more serious crimes. I smell corruption on multiple levels.
We have a lot of problems to fix, but focusing efforts on the wrong targets will not help. As we are seeing, focusing on wrong targets builds resentment and tarnishes the message.

Are Blacks and Other Minorities Oppressed?
The short answer is yes. But probably not how you think they are.
What is Oppression?
Essentially, limiting freedom, restricting or prohibiting activity. When we think of Oppression, we think of slavery, Jim Crowe, segregation, color barriers, ....
If we compare today with the early 1960's, there is a considerable difference in society as a whole with regards to race relations. Are there still issues? Absolutely. There are pockets of racism, but systemic racism is not true.
Slavery, gone for over 150 years. Segregation, gone for well over 50 years.
Do blacks have the same opportunities as whites? Let's look.
Economics; There are plenty of blacks that have succeeded in wealth, CEO's, business owners, etc...
Politics; No poll tax or voter restriction (NO, voter ID does NOT suppress the black vote!!!!). Blacks have been elected to public office for well over 100 years. I even understand we recently had a black president. No oppression in politics.
Sports and Entertainment; Color barrier was broken long ago. Some of the most successful athletes and entertainers are black. No Oppression there.
Advanced Education; Blacks have been openly admitted to colleges and universities for years. And even teach! No Oppression there.
If these people can succeed in society, where is the "Oppression?"
People will point to high incarceration rates for blacks, fear of being stopped by white police officers, and lack of job opportunities.
There is oppression, and here is where it is:
Poor Education due to lack of school choice. Blacks and inner-city youth do not have an opportunity to choose the education they need to compete in the real world. They are stuck in crappy public schools, being taught only what the "State" allows you to know.
This is the number one problem that must be addressed. Why does the left believe black parents are incapable of deciding what is best for their children? Open up school choice,and give these kids a chance to get out of the hood or projects and better themselves!
The poor education leads to poor jobs if any, higher crime, drug use, and single parenthood. Fixing the education problem will make a huge improvement.
Number two, minimum wage. Minimum wage was introduced to keep women and minorities OUT of the workforce. Low and unskilled workers cannot get jobs if the wage is more than the job is worth. Minimum wage keeps entry level workers out of work. No experience is gained, no opportunity occurs.
Number three, dependence on welfare and the inability to get off the system. Can't get a job with growth opportunity, you'll lose your benefit check. Can't get married if a single mom, you'll lose your benefit check,.... The welfare system needs to be revised to give a temporary assist and not punish, but reward those that try to get off the system.
Number four, the Genocide/Eugenics disguised as a "Health Care/Reproductive Care Center." Yep, Planned Parenthood. Founded by the evil maniac Margret Sanger to keep "undesirables (blacks) from reproducing." Abortion is disproportionately done on black women and most Planned Parenthood clinics are in black neighborhoods.
When we look at these four oppressors of the black community, it is evident that the left wants to oppress blacks, as they support and champion these programs. LBJ was right when he finally realized the Civil Rights Bill with the New Deal would give the democrats a vehicle to keep the blacks on the "plantation" and under their control. "We pass this and we'll have those n********s voting democrat for the next 200 years." (Lyndon Johnson-presidential record).

Get Rid of CDC!!!
Why is it, whenever we see a "Public Health Official," they are the most un-healthy looking people I've ever seen. Just because you have a degree in Public Health, doesn't mean you have any clue on what actual health is!
We have an agency known as the CDC, Center for Disease Control, as our supposed government health organization. As the name implies, they are there to "Control" disease. Who's dumb idea is that? You cannot control a virus. You cannot control bacteria. It's like herding cats! You may catch a few, but get bit and scratched in the process. And, most will get away anyways. This is exactly what the CDC policies end up doing. The pathogen gets away and causes damage along the way.
What we need is a paradigm shift. Stop trying to "Control" disease and instead, build HEALTH!
A very important point needs to be made. Understand this; virii and bacteria are NEVER DEADLY!!!!!!!!!!
Read that again, they are NEVER DEADLY!
When people get sick, it is not the virus or bacteria that produces the mucus, fever, coughing, sneezing,etc... Those are your own body's reaction and defense. If your body does not address the invading pathogen properly, death can occur. If pathogens were truly deadly, no one would survive. But, since people do survive, it is the inability of the immune system that caused the death, not the bacteria or virus.
Let's get rid of the CDC and replace it with a Center for Health and Vitality. An organization that promotes immune system strengthening programs. Diet and Nutrition, exercise, natural preventive health care (Massage, Chiropractic, Oriental, Ayurveda, Meditation, etc...), social interaction to start.
We know that all diseases affect those with compromised immune systems. Those are the ones that perish. Healthy people overcome diseases. That is what we must strive for as a society.
I saw the CDC recommendations for schools to re-open. It is absolutely INSANE! Six foot distances, no field trips, no hot lunch, no mass gatherings (pep rallies, assemblies) and others. None of these will prevent any illness. None of these will boost health. In fact, these recommendations will actually harm health. Kids immune systems will be so weakened, that any contact with even a mild cold virus could now be deadly.
The immune system, like any other system in your body needs regular stresses to keep strong. Like training your muscles with the stress of weight lifting. Training your cardio-vascular system with with aerobic activity. Training your brain with puzzles and games. The immune system gets stronger and more efficient when stressed on a regular basis. Coming in daily contact with virii or bacteria trains your immune system.
What happens to your muscles if you just sit around for weeks on end? What happens to your brain if all you do is watch TV? The same thing happens to your immune system if it is not put to use, it becomes weak!
We need to stop trying to "Control" disease, and instead, build our natural immunity up so much that no virus or bacteria can harm anyone. When enough people have done this, that will protect those that cannot via natural herd immunity. That should be our goal!

Covid and Masks
As we are deep into the Covid (Wuhan) Virus circus, the topic of masks and shortages of masks has come up quite often. Once again, appearance outweighs actual function. Wearing a mask makes it look like you are actually doing something to stop spreading the virus. It is only a false hope.
To explain, we have to start with the reason medical personnel wear masks. Masks were initially worn to keep the DOCTOR from drooling or vomiting in patients during surgery! In other words to protect the patient, not the doctor. This is a very important point. Masks do not prevent the spread of disease to the wearer, but protect those around the wearer.
Virii are very tiny microscopic particles. And if airborne, will easily pass right through even a N95 mask. Luckily, airborne virii are very rare. To be airborne, a virus much "hitch a ride" on some kind of a liquid medium. Mucus, saliva, water vapor, etc... While attached to the liquid, they are easily captured by the mask. So, unless someone directly sneezes at you, wearing a mask is of absolutely no benefit to someone who is not sick.
However, if you are sick, then please, wear a mask!
The mask becomes a passive form of "covering your mouth when you cough." If you are sick, when you cough, breathe or sneeze; the virus will be expelled from your body (part of the initial immune response by the way) on the liquids of the expulsion. Wearing a mask captures those hitch-hiking virii and protects those around you.
When I hear politicians and even worse, medical professionals demand wearing masks to prevent "catching" the virus, I just cringe. How far have we let basic logic and science lapse in our educational system? Again, make it look like we are doing something!
Virii can and do survive on various surfaces. So, gloves, hand washing and avoiding touching your face are very effective ways to keep from catching a virus. Masks are not.
If you are healthy, you do not need a mask. If you are infected, then yes, please wear a mask or stay home.

North Carolina Study of 675,000 Smokers Finds No Link to Cancer
A recent study modeled after the recently published Danish Vaccine/Autism study, found no link between smoking and cancer.
The North Carolina Study, funded by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company looked at the medical records of 675,000 smokers and compared the rates of cancer to a sub population of 95% smokers. The results were astounding! There was no significant difference in cancer rates between the two groups. Study authors did admit to excluding 11 cancer deaths from the study group, but declined to state why.
The authors were quoted, "This is clear scientific proof that smoking does not cause cancer."
There you have it. Case closed, the Science is Settled!

Just a Though 2; I know which bathroom I'll use.
There has been a lot of hubbub lately with men who think-self identify as women getting to use the ladies room to do their business. Conservatives in various governing bodies, in an effort to keep perverts out and keep our wives, mothers and children safe from being spied on or assaulted; have passed laws/ordinances making people use the facility in which they are naturally equipped.
Liberal/progressives argue that these laws are anti transgender and discriminatory. They falsely change the narrative of keeping the perverts out, to calling the transgender a pervert.
If the left would pull their heads out of their nether regions long enough to actually hear what the right is saying, maybe we could have a civil discussion on the matter.
Where did all of this start in the first place?
Not in bathrooms!
It was in high school locker rooms.
A couple years ago, a confused (as are most teenage boys, not meant to be condescending) boy, self-identified as a girl. He/she demanded to be allowed to tryout and compete on girls sports teams and make use of the girls locker room. Of course the school board caved in and allowed the boy to join girls sports teams and set up a curtained off area in the girls locker room for him to use.
Can you imagine what these teenage girls will go through having an anatomical male changing in the same room? What about their feelings and security?
From there it expanded to today's mess.
Had no one "Demanded" the right to use a locker room and/or bathroom of their choice, most people would not have really cared. Transgenders, from what I have been told by LGBT friends, have been using the bathroom of their choice for quite some time. And personally, I really don't care.
In fact, I venture to guess that if you asked any conservative their thoughts on the following scenario: If Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner went into the ladies room, entered a stall, closed the door, sat down and did his/her business, washed up and left; would anyone really care? The answer would be no one cares. No one would be threatened by that.
But since the militant LGBT group demands that gender at birth is irrelevant and anyone can use any bathroom they choose; predators have jumped on the bandwagon to their advantage.
Again, no one cares if Bruce/Caitlyn uses the ladies room. We do have a problem with Chester the Molester putting on a wig and skirt to enter a girls locker room. Yes, these sickos will pretend to be transgender to get access to your female family members. I had someone in a Facebook discussion actually ask, "how does one pretend to be transgender?" Being stunned by such a ridiculous statement, I just let it go. I later did think to myself, "how does one pretend to be so stupid?"
Here is my common sense solution that should make everyone happy.
Locker Rooms: If you will be completely exposed/naked then by all means use the facility designated for your anatomical presentation. If you have a penis, use the men's locker room.
Bathrooms: Have 2 separate bathrooms, one with urinals and one with stalls. If you stand, use one room, if you sit use the other. Problem solved.

Just a Thought-Part 1
It has been quite a while since I've posted here, but after reading some of the posts on my Facebook page, there apparently are several uninformed potential voters that need an education.
As you may know, I have retired from Chiropractic practice and have begun a new chapter in my life.
I started a new business restoring old cars and trucks. While getting the business started, I took a job driving school bus. Of course while transporting the kids, my sole focus is on getting them to their destination safely, comfortably and on time. However, when the bus is empty before, between or after route, I get a chance to be alone and do some deep thinking. Here is where I will be sharing these thoughts, hence the title- "Just A Thought."

Socialism vs Capitalism
I have several friends that "Feel The Bern." They claim "Democratic" Socialism is somehow different than other forms of socialism. Or even worse, claim basic government services as forms of socialism (roads, fire and police, public education). I will give them credit in stating Medicare and Social Security are forms of socialism, as they are. The beauty of that is just look at how those programs are doing. Both are poorly managed and going broke!
They rightly claim that mega corporations (the 1%) have too much power. But they blame Capitalism for their very existence. They falsely believe that the purpose of Capitalism is to screw the little guy for the rich guy's benefit. Wrong!!!!
While I do agree there are mega corporations with too much power, Free Market Capitalism is certainly not the cause. Crony Capitalism is. Once the looney left understands this very principle, maybe they will come to understand Socialism is not the answer.
How did these mega corps get so much power? Certainly not by offering quality products or services that the public demanded. No, they got their power by cozying up to government officials. Getting special breaks not offered to other (competing) businesses or industries. So you can see, Free Market Capitalism is not to blame, government corruption is to blame.
Once government gets involved in a business or industry through taxes, tariffs, or other regulations; creating an advantage to some and a burden on others, you get the problems we have now.
Businesses "Too Big To Fail" (I'll write more on this one later) and other bailouts were wrong. These moves perpetuate and embolden these mega corps to grab even more power.
The Socialist/Progressive Left believes more government intervention is needed. Really? Government intervention caused this crap in the first place, and you want more?
Do you really believe that if we go Socialist, we will all of a sudden live in a fairy tale paradise where big business will pay everyone more than they are worth, give their products and services away so everyone can have them and no one will be rich and powerful.........

What will happen is the crony capitalism will expand. Certain "preferred" businesses will grow while others will be shut down by the government (IRS, EPA, BLM, FTC, FDA, etc....). Those preferred business owners and the politicians in power will run everything, and get even richer in the process. You and I and every other working stiff will happily collect our pittance and crumbs and go on living in this socialist paradise.
Since we have clearly shown the problem began with government intervention, don't you think the way to fix it would be to get the government out of business?
Let the Free Market determine who survives and who fails. Get rid of subsidies, corporate welfare, taxes and tariffs. Cut back on the regulatory power of the above listed alphabet bureaucracies. Free Market Capitalism is based on Fair Exchange for goods and services. Screwing people not only doesn't work, it hurts the business.
The thing to remember from all of this is, Crony Capitalism is not Free Market Capitalism. Socialism expands Crony Capitalism. Let's not go down the failed path of Socialism, democratic or any other.
As you may know, I have retired from Chiropractic practice and have begun a new chapter in my life.
I started a new business restoring old cars and trucks. While getting the business started, I took a job driving school bus. Of course while transporting the kids, my sole focus is on getting them to their destination safely, comfortably and on time. However, when the bus is empty before, between or after route, I get a chance to be alone and do some deep thinking. Here is where I will be sharing these thoughts, hence the title- "Just A Thought."

Socialism vs Capitalism
I have several friends that "Feel The Bern." They claim "Democratic" Socialism is somehow different than other forms of socialism. Or even worse, claim basic government services as forms of socialism (roads, fire and police, public education). I will give them credit in stating Medicare and Social Security are forms of socialism, as they are. The beauty of that is just look at how those programs are doing. Both are poorly managed and going broke!
They rightly claim that mega corporations (the 1%) have too much power. But they blame Capitalism for their very existence. They falsely believe that the purpose of Capitalism is to screw the little guy for the rich guy's benefit. Wrong!!!!
While I do agree there are mega corporations with too much power, Free Market Capitalism is certainly not the cause. Crony Capitalism is. Once the looney left understands this very principle, maybe they will come to understand Socialism is not the answer.
How did these mega corps get so much power? Certainly not by offering quality products or services that the public demanded. No, they got their power by cozying up to government officials. Getting special breaks not offered to other (competing) businesses or industries. So you can see, Free Market Capitalism is not to blame, government corruption is to blame.
Once government gets involved in a business or industry through taxes, tariffs, or other regulations; creating an advantage to some and a burden on others, you get the problems we have now.
Businesses "Too Big To Fail" (I'll write more on this one later) and other bailouts were wrong. These moves perpetuate and embolden these mega corps to grab even more power.
The Socialist/Progressive Left believes more government intervention is needed. Really? Government intervention caused this crap in the first place, and you want more?
